Central Coast Avicultural Society
Aviculture & Conservation Since 1970 Everyone
The Central Coast Bird Lovers Day With the growing trend of new homes having small or no backyards, and apartment living, a bird can be the perfect pet. A pet bird can improve wellbeing, reduce depression, they require very little upkeep, they don’t require outdoor walks, fit well into smaller homes and provide wonderful companionship. What is the best bird for you? The Central Coast Bird Club’s, Bird Lovers Day, is the perfect opportunity to see a variety of domestic birds and be advised by experienced breeders as to the best bird suitable for your situation, and the best food and supplements to maintain good health for your bird. See the Don Burke Glow Show. Budgerigars have ultraviolet pigments in their feathers which are invisible to humans. We see just normal green, yellow or blue feathers in daylight. The purpose of their avian glow can help to select their best mate and assist with communication in the flock. All bird lovers will be mesmerised by this display. Don Burke will be remembered for the television program Burke’s Backyard; he is also a cofounder of the Australian Heritage Budgerigar Association. The Heritage Budgerigar show will have breeders anxious to impress the judges, with these traditional small, athletic, spectacularly coloured, breed of budgerigar. Bird Lovers Day 10am to 2pm Sunday 27th September Sohier Park Ourimbah Sausage Sizzle. You could win a Bird and Cage FREE ENTRY
